About Valerie

Valerie Metrejean saw just what it took to put together the day that every little girl dreams of after being asked to be in three of her closest friends’ weddings in Summer ’08. She saw how overwhelming the process could be and wanted to help more than a regular job would allow. Valerie was surprised to learn how few event planning businesses catered to the growing South Louisiana area and ventured to open Southern Fete. She wanted to use her creative talents and unique style to help brides design the wedding of their dreams no matter what size budget. Most importantly she wanted the brides to enjoy it. Your wedding day (and the months before) should be spent with friends and family, not worrying about the little things. Leave the details to Southern Fete and let mom enjoy the big day, too!

Valerie earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Journalism with a minor in English at Louisiana Tech. Her experience as a page designer for “The Daily Advertiser” and “Acadiana Moms” has honed her design skills and cultivated her ability to manage time well, and in fact, thrive under the pressure of demanding deadlines.

She completed her designation with Association for Bridal Consultants (ABC).
